Waterloo Farm Christmas A Cold One

Waterloo Farm Museum and grounds, December, 2013.A cold front moved in and clamped the Waterloo Farm Museum in a frosty grip for the annual “Christmas on the Farm and at the Dewey School Museum” over the past weekend, December 7-8, 2013.

The weather inside was delightful and the old farm house walls were ringing with laughter and good cheer. A number of stoves in the farmhome were cooking and baking, adding delicious aromas to the memories exchanged by old friends.  The homestead took on an authentic look of Christmas past from over one hundred years ago.

Congratulations to Grass Lake High School graduate Justin Klavon who has found great success in the pizza business in Jackson. At the young age of 16, Justin took a pizza delivery job at a local pizza shop in Grass Lake.

Beginning with Justin Tyme Pizza in Grass Lake, then expanding to other areas, Justin now owns and operates Klavon’s Pizzeria and Pub.

His first store is located in the northwest area of Jackson, 6010 Clinton Road. Justin is building a second store at the intersection of US-127 and M-50 at 1361 Old McDevitt Road.

His hard work is paying off. Klavon’s was recently picked as having the best pizza in Jackson, and the ninth best pizza in the state.

Notably Justin chose to have a day during which he turned over all of the sales to his employees as a Christmas bonus.

“I hear a lot of good things about our pizza, but I know the reason behind our success is our great employees,” Klavon offered. “Passing on all of the proceeds from a full day’s sales is a unique and meaningful way to show appreciation for all they do to provide an excellent experience to all of our loyal Jackson County customers.”
