Searching shallow still waters for reptiles of various sizes and flavors, the snowy white birds are a traffic stopper on Willis Road, just west of town. Another foraging flock can be seen at the mini-wildlife sanctuary west of town on Rank Road, just into Washtenaw County.
“Aren’t they just beautiful,” reported Kerene Morrissey after watching the birds on Monday, August 20.
