G.L. Village Council Meeting Minutes
November 1, 2011 REGULAR MEETING
President Rodney V. Walz called the regular meeting of the Village Council to order at 7:30 p.m. Members present Sherwood, Fearer, D. DeBoe, R. Walz, Shelhart, J. DeBoe and Jones. Also present Nolte and Dunham. Public present Rick Mead and Shannon Maynard.
Pledge by All.
Agenda- Motion by Shelhart to adopt the agenda, second Fearer. All in favor, motion carried.
Minutes- Clerk read the minutes of the October 18, 2011 regular meeting. Discussion of changes. Motion by D. DeBoe to accept the minutes of the regular meeting as changed, second Fearer. All in favor, motion carried.
Bills- Clerk presented the bills for the month of November. Discussion of the leak that was reported at the library, Nolte stated the roof is fine the problem is where the library comes in contact with the adjacent building. Lammers did some painting and caulking hopefully that helps. Motion by Shelhart to pay the bills of $31,520.97, second J. DeBoe. All in favor, motion carried.
Maintenance- Dunham was present. He reported that they will be planting trees next week. The DPW is ready for winter.
Public: No comment.
Correspondence- Region 2 dinner info. Consumers Energy hearing Oct 11. Jackson District Library newsletter.
Committee Reports: The committee met on the proposed chicken ordinance. They reviewed the many examples and liked the one from Milwaukee. Discussion. Clerk will put together a draft for review. Parks committee will meet on Nov. 13, 1:00 p.m. at Ryan’s Café.

Village Managers Report- Nolte told council that WOW network has made an offer to buy Broadstripe. This will probably take place in the next few months. Nolte will be working on the budget for the next couple of months, if anyone has ideas for items for the budget let him know. Nolte is working on getting a pilot project for a system that would read the water meters electronically. The company is SLC Meter Service. They would install several units and let the village try them for a while. More to come.
