Chelsea Foundation Awards Grants
The Chelsea Education Foundation is pleased to announce that it has awarded nearly $20,000 to 28 recipients in its Fall 2011 grant cycle.
Although the vast majority of grants were made to projects within the Chelsea School District, CEF grants also support educational projects that benefit groups of all ages.
For more than two decades, this local foundation has raised and managed funds in order to underwrite educational projects. Grant applications are solicited in September, reviewed by a committee of volunteer board members, and awarded in October.
This quick turnaround gives educators the capacity to do projects and fund programs that enrich the educational experience of students and citizens in and around Chelsea, MI.
This year’s grants ranged from as little as $225 up to $2,500 and funded a broad array of programs and projects. Whether it’s a field trip to a Civil War battlefield, an adopt-a-grandparent program, or an extra-curricular science competition, grants from CEF help foster lifelong learning.
From supplies and equipment that empower teachers, to inter-generational field trips that inspire learners, CEF serves a vital and unique role in this tight-knit community. Its grants fund programs and projects that enrich our children and our community, projects that would otherwise go unfunded.
