Three Friends One Knife Two Arrests

Just after 2 am Wednesday morning August 11, 2010,  Deputies from the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff were dispatched to the 1700 block of  W. Michigan Avenue Blackman Township, following an armed robbery report.

An 18-year-old Jackson man said he had loaned his car to a buddy to go get his girlfriend.

Upon returning, the friend, a 20-year-old Jackson man and his girlfriend, a 19-year-old Jackson woman, pulled a knife and demanded his money.

The victim stated the two ex-friends took $150 in cash and raced away with his car. The victim was not injured during the crime.

The two suspects, once identified, were quickly located and arrested.

A search of the suspect’s residence revealed several immature marijuana plants which were seized. It appears the robbery may have been drug related.

The two  were lodged in separate cells at the Jackson County Jail pending arraignment.

They are being charged with Armed Robbery and Manufacturing Drugs.
